I use magic to create that moment in the room, then turn it into connection, resilience, and innovation that outlasts the event.
Let's bring this to your next event.
Trusted by Fortune 50 & 500 teams, associations, and causes across the Americas
You've booked motivational speakers before. People clap, they nod, and by Monday nothing has changed.
Your team feels disconnected and burned out, quietly going through the motions.
Your leaders are frozen. AI and constant change have them playing defense instead of leading it.
Your events and recognition feel procedural, forgotten by the weekend.
It doesn't have to be that way. You can build a culture where people feel seen, and see what's possible.
Thirty years ago, a kid who could barely get a sentence onto the page found the one thing that made him feel seen: a deck of cards and a room that leaned in. Magic taught me that what looks impossible is usually just a frame waiting to be questioned.
That's the whole job now. I walk into your event and create a moment of genuine wonder, the kind that makes a room go quiet, and in that moment two things happen at once. People feel seen. And they start to see what's possible.
Everything I build, for an entire company or for its leaders, runs on that one hinge: feel seen, then see what's possible.
The Magic of Connection changes culture from the floor up, through connection. The Wonder Cycle works from leadership down, adding resilience and innovation on top.
When everyone in the room feels seen, culture shifts. A connection keynote and mentalism experience that turns a room of strangers, or a tired team, into people who feel valued, reconnected, and genuinely glad to be there. Tailored to your theme, your message, or your cause.
A leadership keynote and development program built on a four-step framework your leaders can run long after I leave. It turns fear of change into curiosity, and curiosity into connection, resilience, and innovation.
See what this could look like for your team.
The four moves a leader can run on a Tuesday to keep wonder, and the change it unlocks, alive.
Question the expectation everyone treats as fixed.
Widen the options before you narrow them.
Commit with eyes open, not hedged.
Treat every result, win or loss, as data. Then ask "what if?" again.
People do their best work when they feel seen and can see what's possible. That's true at almost every event you run.
Every attendee feels seen, and the room leaves seeing the year ahead.
A team that feels seen sells like it, then sees what's possible this quarter.
Leaders who see what's possible, teams who feel seen.
Donors give when they feel seen and fully see the cause.
Make your customers feel genuinely seen, not marketed to.
Recognition only lands when people feel truly seen.
A night where everyone in the room feels seen.
Unfreeze the room by helping people see what's possible.
Three minutes from real stages, the Connection Keynote in motion, then a few favorite moments from recent events.

At seven years old, I watched a magician on TV and asked myself a question that has defined my whole life: what else is possible?
Connection was the hardest thing in the world for me. I have autism, diagnosed only five years ago, after a lifetime of fights I couldn't talk my way out of and paragraphs that took hours to write. The thing I struggled with most became the work of my life. I learned to "talk onto the page," trained as a speaker with Les Brown, studied memory with a US Memory Champion, earned a business degree, served as an executive director, am working toward my MBA, and have performed for Fortune 500 teams from boardrooms to galas across the Americas.
I'm not here to fool your people. I'm here to make them feel seen, and show them what else is possible.
Ready to feel it in your own room?
You could have heard a pin drop in the room when you were closing. You hit every single theme of every single day in your recap. You were perfection.
If you have the opportunity to "wow" an audience and give them an experience they'll never forget, you need Daniel. He had us laughing and feeling sentimental while dropping our jaws.
Daniel came and did a show for our company and it was amazing. My mind is blown. I'll be thinking about it for the rest of the day.
Daniel was spot on incorporating our core values into his message. I highly recommend him for any corporate or leadership outing.
I was truly delighted, the kind of Disney World-esque delight. Eyes open, jaw dropped. A fantastic show. I would love to see Daniel again.
You wouldn't think magic and real estate would go together, but the way he tied his performance to our industry was phenomenal.
We found Daniel online when searching for a keynote speaker. An absolutely amazing message, and the team will be thinking about going all in long after.
He tied our motto for the year into his presentation in a way I could not have. Our staff laughed together and left on the edge of their seats.
From the opening magic to custom "bumper" songs for our awards, Daniel made it so easy and everyone was amazed. Highly recommend for any corporate event.
Whether you have a small group or an auditorium, Daniel keeps you on the edge of your chair and leaves you with a renewed desire to conquer the world.
People leave feeling seen, valued, and reconnected to each other and to the mission.
Fear of change becomes curiosity, so the next disruption is met with questions, not panic.
A room that can see what's possible starts asking "what if?", the first move of every breakthrough.

Daniel C. Schaffer is a keynote speaker and corporate mentalist based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He performs magic and mentalism live on stage and uses it to carry a message, so the idea lands emotionally instead of being listened to politely and forgotten by Monday.
Audiences book him for two things: a keynote that changes how a room feels about each other, and a framework their leaders keep using afterward. He has performed for Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 teams, associations, schools, municipalities, and nonprofits, with 300+ five-star reviews across 27+ industries and 15+ years on stage.
The Magic of Connection is his whole-company keynote. It is a magic and mentalism experience built around one idea: when everyone in a room feels seen, culture shifts. A room of strangers, or a tired team, leaves feeling valued, reconnected, and genuinely glad they were there.
It is built for conferences, all-hands and all-staff meetings, galas, fundraisers, customer appreciation nights, awards nights, and celebrations. The content is tailored to your theme, your message, or your cause, and the company or organization name usually ends up being the magic word.
The Wonder Cycle is his leadership keynote and development program. It is built on four repeatable moves a leader can run on an ordinary Tuesday: Ask What If, question the expectation everyone treats as fixed; Explore What's Possible, widen the options before narrowing them; Go All In, commit with eyes open rather than hedged; and Learn and Grow, treat every result, win or loss, as data, then ask what if again.
It is a cycle on purpose. Most teams only debrief failures, and the wins deserve the same analysis. It is built for leadership retreats, offsites, sales kickoffs, and change or innovation initiatives.
No. It is a keynote about how people think when everything around them is changing, and AI happens to be the loudest example of that right now.
The observation behind it is simple: everybody is learning how to use AI, and almost nobody is learning how to think with it. Teams get so deep in adopting the tool that the creative engine goes quiet. The Wonder Cycle turns fear of change into curiosity, and curiosity into connection, resilience, and innovation. No prompting tutorials.
Direction. The Magic of Connection changes culture from the floor up, through connection, and works best when you want the whole company in one room. The Wonder Cycle works from leadership down, adding resilience and innovation on top, and works best with the people who set direction.
Organizations that run both usually open the year with connection and equip their leaders with the framework separately.
It is a working session that can be added to either keynote, run as one hour, two hours, or a half day. Your team uses the Wonder Cycle to walk through the real stages of new product development, applied to your actual business rather than a case study.
You leave with a product concept you can take to market or put in front of a test audience, plus a book of ideas the team can keep iterating on. The keynote unfreezes the room; the workshop unfreezes the pipeline.
Yes, and holiday parties are one of the most requested bookings of the year. For holiday parties Daniel stays close to home, generally within driving distance of Cincinnati, which covers most of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and the nearby metros.
Holiday party dates for November and December book up early, often months ahead, so it is worth checking availability well before the season.
Guests arrive to close-up magic that moves table to table and gets people talking to colleagues they never talk to. Then, after dinner, a 45 to 60 minute show that gets the room laughing, chanting the company name, and yes, someone gets turned invisible.
The part most entertainers cannot do is the close. Because Daniel is also a keynote speaker, he turns the night back onto your employees: the only reason there is anything worth celebrating is how each of them shows up every day. People leave feeling celebrated, not just entertained.
Yes. Mingling magic works receptions, cocktail hours, trade show booths, open houses, and networking events, and it can be booked on its own or added before a show.
It is also the easiest thing a venue will ever host. Mingling requires no stage, no sound system, and no technical rider. Everything fits in his pockets. He needs access to the space about fifteen minutes before start time and parking near the entrance.
Yes. Fundraising galas are a specialty, because people donate emotionally rather than logically, and magic creates the emotional moment that giving follows. The mission gets woven into the show rather than bolted onto it.
One gala cleared $350,000 against a $300,000 goal, up from $250,000 the prior year. Across his career he has helped raise more than $1 million for causes. He generally works with organizations whose event goal is $50,000 or more.
Both, technically, though the honest answer is that the label matters less than the job. People searching for a corporate magician, a corporate entertainer, or a mentalist for a company event are usually looking for the same outcome, which is a room that comes alive.
Daniel works as a keynote speaker and corporate mentalist. Mentalism is the mind-reading side of the craft, and it is the method rather than the message. He is not there to fool your people. He is there to make them feel seen and show them what else is possible.
Daniel is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and travels to clients across the Americas. There is no public storefront; he comes to your venue.
He works regularly throughout the Cincinnati region and the metros within a few hours' drive, including Columbus, Dayton, Indianapolis, Northern Kentucky and Covington, Louisville, Lexington, Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit, and the surrounding communities in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan. Fly-in engagements are booked nationally.
A keynote typically runs 45 to 60 minutes, and the program is shaped to fit the slot you have. Holiday party and gala shows run in the same range. Mingling magic is booked by the hour, usually one to two hours during a reception.
Add the workshop and you are looking at an additional hour, two hours, or a half day depending on how far you want the team to take it.
For mingling magic, nothing. For a stage show or keynote, a raised platform or stage, a sound system with an XLR input, a wireless headset microphone plus a handheld, setup access before doors, and a tech for a quick sound and light check.
You get a one-page technical rider and a room layout well before the event so your AV team has everything in advance. For events within driving distance he brings a backup microphone and backup sound. For fly-in events the venue provides all audio.
Not for keynotes. The work depends on real magic happening a few feet from real people, and that does not survive a webcam. Keynotes, shows, and mingling are in-person only.
The one exception is the multi-week leadership development program, which includes virtual working sessions between in-person bookends.
Every keynote package includes a discovery call before the event, plus light research on your audience, so the content lands as theirs rather than as a stock talk. Your theme, your values, your language, and the year you have actually had all get woven in.
Clients tend to notice. MetLife's Global Chief Audit Executive said he hit every theme of every day in the recap. Core-Mark said he was spot on incorporating their core values. A school district said he tied their motto for the year into the presentation in a way they could not have.
Keynotes start at $15,000. Shows, galas, and reception magic are quoted on request, because a 45 to 60 minute keynote, a holiday party with mingling and a stage show, and an hour of close-up magic at a reception are genuinely different bookings.
What moves the number is the format, the date, the travel, and whether you add the workshop. November and December are the highest-demand dates of the year. Tell him the date, city, audience size, and what you want people to feel, and you get a straight quote rather than a negotiation. Travel is included for events within driving distance of Cincinnati.
Earlier is better, particularly for November and December holiday parties and for conference keynotes, which are often booked six to twelve months out. That said, short-notice dates are worth asking about, because calendars open up.
Booking is fast once you decide. Proposals include a booking widget, and one recent client went from first click to signed and paid in under three minutes.
